Omnes Education Group recently launched an AI agent to support its students throughout their learning journey—a tool designed to combine high performance with efficiency.

AI is now making its way into many fields (marketing, creative work, medicine, science, etc.), but what about education? While the idea of being supported in one's learning by artificial intelligence seemed almost impossible a few years ago, today it is a reality. 

The OMNES Education Group has embarked on this ambitious path by seeking to implement an intelligent pedagogical assistant capable of adapting and personalizing student journeys, with a clear goal: to guide every learner toward success.

Why and how should such a solution be implemented? 

The success of this project depends on four conditions: Adoption, industrialization, confidentiality, and frugality. 

The challenge: To drive adoption and satisfaction among the group's 35,000 learners while maintaining high performance, protecting potentially sensitive data, and finding the perfect balance between performance and cost control. 

AI-powered learning support helps boost student performance, familiarizes them with new tools, and provides access to personalized guidance. 

For a large group like Omnes, the solution must be robust and scalable enough to cover all types of training programs offered by the institution. 

BOOSTAI: The intelligent pedagogical platform

Craft AI supported the Omnes group in implementing a pedagogical platform called BOOSTAI, capable of adapting to every subject, profile, and learning method by offering personalized resources: e-learning modules, videos, documents, exercises, and more.

The result of three years of research and development between Craft AI and the Omnes Group, this tool brings together numerous pedagogical and technical assets that allow each student to tailor their learning path. 

The benefits for users are numerous:

  • The ability to receive support without a private tutor 
  • The opportunity to go further in one's learning through new resources 
  • The ability to grasp new concepts through a different approach 

How does it work? 

The student's profile is analyzed by the tool, which then suggests four types of activities for each subject: 

  • Practice: Master and apply specific concepts 
  • Clarify concepts: Understand more complex course material and explore different examples and use cases 
  • Review for an exam: Prepare for an assessment or presentation with various exercises
  • Organize learning 

This solution requires no prompting from the student, and each activity addresses specific, distinct needs. That is the tool's core strength: simplicity and personalization.

Deployed across all 19 OMNES Group campuses, the platform already supports many students in their daily studies.

Technical and development challenges

The Craft Ai agent contextualizes the proposed exercises by retrieving student data and course materials provided by instructors via the OMNES-hosted Moodle.

Specific choices were made during development to ensure the solution is well-suited for academic use: 

  • The solution is built on a strict workflow architecture, where LLMs provide sequencing within an agentic environment. Depending on the student's request or choice, the LLM directs them to a specific agent or service from a predefined list. 
  • Students never prompt the LLM directly, which allows for control over the displayed responses. 
  • Each agent is assigned a specific task—such as generating activities, providing feedback, or mentoring on specific concepts—to ensure a robust solution. 
  • Frugality is a key consideration; the solution must meet every learner's needs with a single, optimized system. LLMs are tailored to each task to provide the appropriate "power" for every request (depending on whether the student wants to generate a simple exercise or receive feedback based on their entire training history, for example). This allows the solution to optimize its resources. 
  • The solution also relies on a "stateless" system (capable of reconstructing context on demand) rather than a "stateful" one.

The benefits of such a solution 

The advantages of a learning platform like BOOSTAI are numerous, especially for faculty. Since the exercises generated by the platform are based on their own course materials, instructors do not have to do extra work to upload resources. Furthermore, they are trained on the tool so they can easily upload their courses and understand how the platform works.

Finally, the learning path follows a structured pedagogical logic: learners progress step-by-step rather than choosing exercises freely, ensuring a coherent learning journey.

Now that the solution is functional and already in use by students, its future is taking shape with several key objectives: 

  • Deploy the solution with its four learning modules across all programs and subjects within the Omnes Group (particularly in science and tech programs).
  • Integrate a dedicated conversation space into the solution for questions related to academic life. 
  • Leverage BOOSTAI to develop personalized agents.
